So, tis the season to campaign. Every few years leaders change over. New people take part in office, old people return to office, and some people retire their office. Well, in the process many things are promised, said, printed, and advertised. I thought the states were bad during campaign time. However, where I am currently at... what politicans in the states do seem like child's play.
I have been watching commericals that pull all types of strings. I have seen a local person pour out their heart, wholeheartedly to a people that have a million and one things being said to them. It was nice and heart warming at first. However, over time it seems that the lines are rehearsed and not really words flowing fluidedly from the mouth. I have seen wives, mothers, and children get into commercials talking about how great a husband, father, son, and friend thier dad is. That is fine and dandy. Yet, fulfilling one of these roles and fulfilling the role as leader of a people are not the same thing. There are qualities to be brought to the table, don't get me wrong. But these are different sides of a person. Not all sides represent the same views.
I have seen commercials were the main players past "corruptions" are placed on the table for everyone to see. How are these commercials combated? By placing mothers on air to tell people that they are not being true to their heritage. Watching this commercial I feel like a child who is getting into trouble for something that I didn't do. I am getting in trouble while watching TV in the comforts of my own home by a mother who is laying her feelings on the table about her son. She does make some very valid points. Yet, if you truly listen to her, what she is saying can be used for either side of the fence. What is going on during these campaigns is not right. Both sides have taken some cookies from the cookie jar without permission, swiped their finger across a freshly frosted cake when no one was looking, and pasted the boundaries that were set in place for safety and peace of mind.
So at this point I must admit, if I were voting, I would vote for the underdog. The person who did not display themselves on my television 24/7 or rudely interrupted my nightly programming. There is nothing wrong about getting the message out there. But do you really have to do for the jugular, followed by a kick to the stomach, and blow to the back of the knee, and so forth. It is a never ending battle displaying wrongs to the point that the rights being spoke of seem like a campaign ploy to counter a wrong doing. Do right because you are suppose to, not because at this moment it may gt my vote. Do right because you believe in what you are doing, not because you feel obligated.
