Fall Season Roll Out

So... yet again we are going through the changing of our shows. Some are coming back, some aren't, and the networks have introduced some new ones. As I see the shows I plan on providing a slight break down of it they should be watched or not. As always, this is just my opinion. So it can really be taken with a grain of salt. I will add to my praise and rants on the shows as I see them on television until I have seen all the shows that peeked my interest for the week.

SUNDAY: HBO's "Boardwalk Empire" was alright. It is something that I would watch to pass the time. It is an interesting storyline. I saw the previews and had completely missed the fact that it takes place during the prohibition. The "puppet master" is alright. It is interesting how he pulled strings in the first episode without it being shown. The "wife beater" got what he had coming. Unfortunately, I am now interested in her story versus the overall story.

MONDAY: "House" did not meet my expectations. It is nice that he is with his love interest. It makes me wonder if this is possibly the last season. I can't wait to see what complications their relationship is going to bring into the work place. Nothing major really happened other than laying a storyline to thicken the underlying plot for the rest of the season. "Castle" was GREAT!!! I found it funny the way they reunited the team. This will be a must watch show this season. "Hawaii 5-O" (the remake) was better than I expected. I thought that I was going to be watching the network recreate something that should of been left on TVland. I am not one for alot of action. This show did not let me down. Chase was a let down. I thought that I would be watching a more serious version of "In Plain Sight." Not so much. "Chase" did not catch my attention. If I started doing something else, there was nothing in the show to bring me back to it. I looked at the tv like, "oh it's still on." I am a little peeved that I even recorded on my DVR. Surprisingly, I am not a "Dancing with the Stars" person. I will glance at it in passing. However, I usually could care less about who is on it, what they are doing that night, and how rehersal went. This season has grabbed hold of my attention. I honestly see myself getting into this season and attempting to watch it from start to finish. As far as voting... I'll leave that to the die hard fans and network for now. I was impressed with some of the performances that I saw. I was let down by a few as well. However, there is one that I can't wrap my mind around. Why are certain people allowed on here? It is "Dancing with the Stars." Hence, a star should be partnered with a dancer. Not everyone on this show is a star.

VMA's

So... this is my first blog so please bear with me. I just couldn't keep my coments to myself about the VMA's this year.

First off... Chelsea Handler was alright. She was funny and cracked jokes throughout the whole show. It's sad that there were times when I looked forward to seeing her on stage versus some of the performers. I was HIGHLY disappointed with the performance that Usher gave. Not only did he not sing the MAJORITY of it, but when he did sing he was out of breath. So I think the time has come for him to choose if he wants to dance or sing. He is getting too old or out of shape to do both. The performance that Nikki did was questionable. I didn't recognize her at first. Then I was like, why she doing this song and not one of the ones that she was nominated for. Drake... really. So his backup "dancers" just chilled in some comfy looking chairs. I would of loved to get a check just to sit in the background in a chair while he sung about me getting my hair and nails done. And finally we come to Lady GaGa. I can't say anything about her performance because she didn't perform. The dress changes were a bit much. I get that she cleaned house with the awards, but seriously. The first dress was hot. The black one... if you need assistance getting out of your seat, then it is definately too much. The third change, I could of did without.

Well, I lied. Of course I have to address the Taylor Swift / Kanye thing. Taylor Swift: please keep shoes or socks on during your performance. I get that it was a song from the heart about innocence being lost. But really. It's an award performance. Not chilling in the studio recording or at home touching up the song. At least invest in some nude no-show socks. **Payless 2 for $5** Now, Kanye... I loved the "*f* em all" toast. Way to just put it out there that you really don't care. However, someone should have been waiting in the wings backstage with a belt. This performance was hyped up and didn't quite live up to the expectation that was set. Then again, he did perform a *f* em all toast!

So other than taking up space on my DVR and wasting the majority of the two hours that I spent watching the 2010 VMA's... overall I would of rather continued watching crazy movies on Lifetime. The show wasn't that bad, but it seems that over the years the VMA's have started to go downhill. Wonder how long it is going to take for this award show to start coming back up the mountian?
